I read AIO cover to cover but I think going through QAE, I would’ve preferred the official manual so I can link those topics and brush up only on them. The structure maybe dry but it’s the one that you’ll need to apply to your questions, not anything else.

I'd recommend studying from the AIO and after finishing read the official CISM Review Manual. I agree that it's really dry, but in my experience you really have to have at least one read of the official materials. Also the Oficial QA is pretty good to get into the ISACA mindset, they ask the questions different than the ISC2. Passed CISM today. I passed CISM today. One month of studying in the evenings and weekends. Already have CISSP () and am an experienced CISO, but nonetheless, this was a challenging exam. Like others say, it's not that the questions are hard, per se, but rather it's the way they are worded.

I purchased the Review Manual and the Questions, Answers Explanations Manual together. I was extremely disappointed to receive two paperback books for the price of hardback, scholarly books. My only guess is that these books are geared toward a college course on the CISM; otherwise they would let the purchaser know that he/she was purchasing.
